Huntingdon Olympics Gymnastics Club was started by Terry Sharpington 28 years ago as a place to train his daughter. Other gymnasts soon followed and a few years later it was refurbished and re-opened by John Major.
Since then HOGC has become more and more of an instituition that is well loved and well used by many of the people of Huntingdon as well as those coming from further a-field.
Terry was a great believer in sport for all and was also known for his charity work and helping those with special needs in sports.
For the last 28 years and since Terry died , HOGC has gone from strength to strength in both recreational and competitive gymnastics.
Today we are bursting at the seams! Even if we were open 24hrs a day 365 days a year, we would still be unable to satisfy the demand from local residents and many others on our infamous waiting list!
The only realistic option would be to extend the building.
